Songwriters built Song Refiners. We know what it's like to be protective of a song you've poured yourself into. Here's exactly how we handle your work — in plain English, no legalese.
Always. Period. Your lyrics, your melody, your recording — every word and every note belongs to you. Song Refiners does not claim, license, or take any percentage of your work. Submitting a song for review does not transfer a single right to us. See our Terms for the legal version.
Your song is reviewed — not harvested. We don't use your audio or lyrics to train models, build datasets, or improve any AI system. The review system listens, scores, and returns feedback. That's it.
Every song you upload is private to you and your review. Want to keep every song locked down? Fine. Want to opt in to Showcase, Pitches, or community listening so other writers can hear your work? Also fine — but only when you choose to. It's your decision, song by song.
You. The review system. And me (Keith), if I need to look at something for quality control or to help you with a support question. That's the whole list. Not other users, not the public, not any third party — unless you opt in to share it.
Change your mind? One click in your account and the audio, lyrics, and review are gone. We don't make you fill out a form, email support, or wait. Your song, your call.
Songwriter. Founder. Actual human.
I'm a songwriter. I built Song Refiners because I wanted the kind of honest, useful feedback I couldn't get anywhere else — and because I knew most "AI music tools" weren't built by people who actually write songs.
I'm not going to steal your song. I'm not going to feed it to a model. I'm not going to put it on a playlist without asking. I'd be furious if someone did that to one of mine.
If you want proof I'm a real songwriter writing real songs — here's my own pitch page on this same site:
